15 Minutes?

News of John’s resignation from the Department of the Interior was (briefly) a bigger story in The Guardian than President Trump’s suggestion that the Iranians should bomb San Diego or Los Angeles. A proper prioritization was soon restored but the story on Murdock, co-published with Public Domain, was picked up by a variety of outlets from PoliticoPro to Yahoo News.

Additionally, The New Republic independently mined John’s letter for mild profanity and found some. (And to be clear, John does not think America is a sh***y country but was merely noting that such is the direction that Steve Bannon’s famous strategy to “flood the zone with sh*t” seems designed to take us.)

Only time will tell whether this short burst of coverage will be the end of John’s unexpected (and unsought) stay on Andy Warhol’s timeline of notoriety. In response to the inquires of various reporters, the Department of the Interior accused John of spreading”inflammatory rhetoric,” and if his resignation has now helped this administration to turn against such tactics then John feels these have been 15 minutes well spent.
