Wendell Berry’s writings on higher education led to a book which led to a book review, here, at First Things.

Perhaps, the timing of this long delayed piece is fitting.  It is almost five years to the day since I sat on Mr. Berry’s front porch, a lengthy pit-stop as I drove from D.C. to a family farmhouse in Texas.  A couple of years later, the next stop (of course) was a no-bedroom apartment on the campus of a Korean university.  Just that typical D.C. to Hallettsville to Pohang career path.  Who knows what lies next!
